Brilliant Energy Science and Technology (BEST) Theme-Based Lab is funded by HKUST(GZ) and maintained by the Sustainable Energy and Environment Thrust. Electric Propulsion & Energy Storage (EPES) Lab is a part of the BEST Lab, covering research on transportation electrification and renewable energy systems.

Research and Technology

The EPES Lab focuses on more advanced research methodology and technologies in electrical machines, power electronics, battery management systems, and renewable energy systems.

Interdisciplinary

The lab is committed to interdisciplinary research in new energy systems, which is based on electrical engineering and automation, and promotes cross-integration with informatics, thermodynamics, and materials science.

Sharing Equipment Platform

The BEST Lab, including the EPES Lab, offers researchers and students a fully open experimental platform. The lab will share equipment for independent or collaborative projects to on-campus/off-campus people.
