Dr. Dianxun XIAO is an Assistant Professor in Sustainable Energy and Environment Thrust at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), and affiliated with The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, HKSAR. He received the B. Eng and M. Eng degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China, in 2016 and 2018. He was awarded the Ph. D. degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada, in 2021. Afterward, he continued working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow before joining HKUST(GZ) in April 2022.

He focuses on transportation electrification, renewable energy systems, and robotic servos. He serves as the Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Transportation Electrification (CAS/JCR Q1 Journal), a Member of the Special Committee on Electric Vehicles in China Electrotechnical Society, Topic Chair for ECCE 2023, and Session Chairs for several international conferences. He leads funds from NSFC, local government, industries, etc. He received the Teaching Award Nomination and was recognized as the World’s Top 2% Scientists in 2023 & 2024.
